Kenya tourism done right.

depth. care. cultural responsibility.

Our travel experiences are grounded in a deep respect for the people, cultures, and communities of Kenya. We’re not in the business of transactional tourism. We’re here to lead trips that are intentional, immersive, and human-centered.

Kenya tourism done right is travel that invites curiosity, encourages listening, and leaves a positive footprint wherever it goes.

At GCK Travel, connection isn’t an add-on. it’s the foundation.

We view travel differently than most.

David was born and raised in Kenya and has spent more than a decade leading trips back to his homeland. As an African-American educator living in the U.S., he carries a unique perspective, one shaped by global experience, personal history, and a lifelong commitment to cross-cultural learning.

He launched GCK Travel to offer an alternative to the standard tourist experience: one that’s grounded in cultural immersion, mutual respect, and community engagement. Every trip is infused with David’s expertise and care, from itinerary design to on-the-ground adventures.

Dr. David Angwenyi

Meet our Founder, Bridge-builder, and connector.

David believes that learning is a lifelong journey. Beyond his work as a classroom educator, David aims to make life changing experiences accessible to people from all walks of life...
David Angwenyi was raised in Nyanchonori Village in South Western Kenya. In 1994, David emigrated to the United States, where he pursued his education and a career in pharmaceutical drug development. Wanting to share his knowledge and experiences, David earned a Master’s degree in Science Education and left the pharmaceutical space to become a teacher at Hopewell Valley Central High School in 2004. David’s passion for inspiring and empowering others led him to start the educational diplomacy program in 2007. The focus of this program is to bring students to his home village in Kenya for experiential service learning trips. The success of these trips inspired David to earn his Ph.D in Educational Leadership, with his thesis focusing on the benefits of short term travel experiences for students. David’s transcontinental upbringing has inspired him to work towards making lasting and impactful connections between people from diverse communities and backgrounds.

David is an internationally recognized leader in education and philanthropy.
